Hidden within the design, sometimes very deep within the design are secrets. Shy butterflies, camouflaged beetles or moths, even a nimble spider bashfully tried to avoid us. There are finches, moths, chrysalides, cob webs, gecko and even a praying mantis. Just like in real nature you can never be sure what’s hiding behind the leaves.
Each and every flower, insect, bird, leaf or lychen has provenance. As the designs are elaborately fashioned from real flora and fauna we are able to say exactly where particular elements have come from. Examples include the Butterflies & Zebra Finches that are from the Blenheim Palace aviary, garden Cross spiders from Ightam Mote, a cricket from the gardens of Great Dixter, while Wisteria fronds are from the Peak District.
